Father Ken Westray

In Memoriam

Father Kenneth Westray, pastor of Saint Vincent de Paul Church, San Francisco.

Father Ken passed away in his sleep at the SVDP rectory on Tuesday night, June 23rd, 2020.

I would like to let you know briefly of some ways Father Ken was especially helpful to the GGBC.

One of Father Ken's first Sundays as pastor was the commemoration of the Golden Gate Bridge 75th anniversary.  Father Ken ran down the hill from

SVDP to Crissy Field to hear the performance by the GGBC between the 10 am and noon Masses to congratulate the boys and bellringers.

When the GGBC participated in the Pueri Cantores International Festival in Washington DC. Father Ken wrote a letter to the SVDP School

parents to encourage their participation in the choir and the festival, and he surprised us by arranging and paying for all of our accommodations and

meals at the Josephite Seminary in Washington DC.

These are just two examples of the quiet way Father Ken assisted and supported the GGBC.

Rest in peace, Father Kenneth Westray, and thank you for your generosity to the boys and young men of the GGBC!
